Surviving the Holocaust - Lesson Four

The title of this module is:
How did they survive?

LESSON FOUR:

Robbie survived because his family helped him, he worked to make himself useful to the Nazis, through the kindness of strangers and through luck.

Judy Cohen felt that the basic human instinct of hope, a tiny flame of hope that she would live, helped her to survive.

And you just saw that David Ehrlich survived by doing what he could to get scraps of food, whether it meant polishing the shoes of the SS, or risking death by stealing from them.

Bill G. survived the camps in Birkenau and Meldorf. Read his story, and learn more about how these courageous, lucky men and women struggled to survive.

When you have finished reading and thinking about Bill's experiences, please select "Lesson Five" from the menu bar below. It is another video of a survivor, and is less than five minutes in length.
