Moments of Decision - Lesson 1

The title of this module is:
Moments of Decision-Escaping the Ghetto

LESSON ONE:

Introduction:
As World War Two began, Lillian was a young girl living in Poland with mother, father and younger sister. In video clips previous to the ones you will be seeing here, she described how she watched German soldiers (who had invaded Poland) build a wall around part of the city not far from where she lived.

Soon, the German soldiers came to her home. The family had to pack suitcases, leave their home and relocate, with many other Jewish families, to the newly built Ghetto. Lillian then described how difficult it was to live in the Ghetto.

In this video clip below, you'll hear there was a rumor in the Ghetto. The Nazis might be organizing an action against the children. Her father had to make a decision. Should he just ignore the rumor? Or should he act?

If this was you, what might you decide to do?

To hear what decision he made, play the video. Click the arrow on the play bar just below the video.
